A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

This is my platformer after modifications. There were several modifications, the most notable are:

A brand new pickup with unique art and function. The jetpack pickup gives the astronaut the ability to jump one more time. This pickup is required for progression in the levels.

A new hazard. The acid drop hazard has new art and the acid drop spawner is a newly coded spawner that spawns the drop. Relatedly, I made art for a new tile to go with the drop, detail tile of an acid leak.

Two newly designed levels, level one is designed to be easy, and level two is designed to be challenging.

Acid resistant enemy, in level 2 there is a modified enemy that is immune to acid. Rather than being an obstacle, it is helpful for bouncing off of to avoid acid.

Story added. Specifically, the empty instruction page was replaced by a story page, and the win screens in the levels reflect the story.

I like the way your modifications are headed! I think that a new hazard, such as dripping acid, could be a great way to change up gameplay and add some new obstacles.

The best advice that I can give you in terms of level design would be to make sure that each level has some sort of unique identifier. New types of challenges, enemies, obstacles, or powerups can massively help with this. Putting some time into playtesting and differentiating your levels (to figure out, from a player's perspective, how the level plays) can also give you some direction in how to design things.

I also like your idea of a new pickup! Best of luck with finishing up the project, I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!
